What it is
Guards are worth it on some roofs and a waste on others. We look before we quote. Tree cover, roof pitch and the state of the existing gutter decide whether they are worth it.
Guards reduce maintenance. They do not end it. Grit and needles still collect on top.
What guards change
A packed trough overflows at the first heavy rain. Sweep across to see the difference.

What it fixes
- Cleaning twice a year and still finding it packed
- Pine or spruce dropping needles all year
- Overflow at the same corner every heavy rain
- Ice damming that starts with a packed trough
- A roofline that is difficult or unsafe to reach often
How we work
- Rigid, snow-load-rated systems only. Plastic screens do not survive a Montreal winter.
- The run is cleaned and re-pitched before anything goes on.
- Cut and fitted to your gutter profile, secured against snow sliding off the roof.
What you get
- A straight answer on whether guards suit your roof
- Photos of the cleaned run before install
- One flat price covering clean, pitch and install
- Clear expectations on what still needs doing
- The cleaned run re-pitched before install
When to book
Spring or early summer, on a clean, dry, re-pitched run. Installing in late autumn covers a gutter at its heaviest load, with no time to check it. That leaves the whole season to confirm the run performs before winter.
